Experience
Teaching is something for which I have a great passion. Despite being a recent graduate I still have ten years of experience working with and teaching children at two different churches. Being able to work with them one on one is some of the most rewarding and most enjoyable experiences I have had in my teaching experiences. Students will often need that extra help that they are not able to get in a school with a larger classroom. A one on one boost can be a great benefit for students. Making connections with the students is something I have done with success during my time leading classes at church as well as during my student teaching experience. This is an important aspect of teaching because gaining the trust and respect of your students goes a long way towards educational success. They need to know that you care about not only their education but their well-being too. This makes tutoring a perfect match for my skills and experience. Elementary education is my major focus and desire. It is where my heart is. My expanded knowledge of math and science combined with my passion for working with elementary aged students makes this area a perfect match. I have added experience in the classroom with these subjects and have been able to improve interest and results in these areas. Math is a subject that many students will come to hate. This is often because they fall behind a little bit and become frustrated as they are not receiving the extra help they need. But getting that extra help from tutoring can turn all of that around as all the need is a bit of guidance and assistance to get back on track. Reading is an essential part of any education. It is the starting point for information and the foundation for learning in the future. One of the most important parts to improving reading skills in a child is to build their confidence. They may not have confidence reading in class and can become discouraged. Private tutoring can help to build this confidence and improve their interest in learning. Reading should be fun.
